With Richmond allegedly gaining Megabus service in the near future and Megabus starting to run some over-250-miles routes in the Northeast, I'm wondering how viable a low-cost bus hub would be run out of DC, namely for traffic heading westbound/southbound. In addition to the typical and existing DC-NYC and DC-Philly routes, could any of the following work?

DC-Frederick or Hagerstown-Pittsburgh
DC-Harrisburg, PA (possibly onward to Philly for Harrisburg passengers)
DC-Harrisonburg-Roanoke[-Blacksburg when VT is in session]
DC-Charlottesville[-Lynchburg-Roanoke]
DC-Richmond (possibly onward to points below)
DC-Norfolk-Virginia Beach (via I-95/I-64)
DC-Annapolis-Salisbury-Virginia Beach (via US 50 and US 13)
DC-Raleigh/Durham
DC-Greensboro-Charlotte (possibly in conjunction with the above)
DC-Boston (bypassing NYC, the route nearly tried by TransportAzumah)

I think some of these routes would do well if given a chance to succeed, especially with the number of transplants from many of these areas living around here which would, IMO, bode well for the Pittsburgh and Hampton Roads routes. Any "Roanoke-and-Universities" route would probably do okay given the lack of Amtrak or one-seat Greyhound in Roanoke and of any bus service not geared to students going home in Harrisonburg or Blacksburg. The lack of links between North Carolina and the DC area have intrigued me as it seems a lot farther away than it actually is.
