Jerusalem Light Rail Construction Update

According to the Israeli Transportation Minister, they are still planning to open the light rail in Jerusalem next spring.  Seems like a tall order based on the state of things back in June (you can see photos on my website on this page), but apparently trains are now testing on a 2 mile section of track, and testing on Jaffa Road in the center of town will commence "soon" (but soon is on the verge of meaningless when used by Israelis, soon could be tomorrow or next year).  I'll be back in Jerusalem Friday so I can provide an eyewitness account after that.  But for the meantime, click here for an article and video about the state of light rail construction, in English.
