Virginia and Amtrak launch 2nd state-funded intercity passenger train

 THE WASHINGTON POST reported on July 21, 2010 that the Commonwealth and Amtrak began another new train to provide service between Richmond and Washington.  The northbound train is Amtrak #174 that departs Richmond at 7:00 AM and arrives in Washington DC at 9:30 AM before continuing to Boston where it is scheduled to arrive at 6:25 PM.  The southbound train is Amtrak #125 that leaves New York at 11:35 AM and departs Washington at 3:55 PM for a 6:25 PM arrival in Richmond. These two trains operate Monday - Friday only.
