Best way from North Arlington->National Harbor->Nats Park->North Arlington

This may be the first time that DCATZ settles a debate between people in a relationship. And it's a transit related debate!

My girlfriend and I have tickets to a Nats game tomorrow (she wants her Ryan Zimmerman bobblehead). She also wants to go to National Harbor squarely for the Peeps store there to get Peeps stuff for some Peep fanatic relatives. The problem is that getting to National Harbor by transit is hard and getting there by transit from Virginia is worse. Our schedules between now and when we see said relatives are quite packed and this literally is the only day we can go to National Harbor.

She thinks the Metro from East Falls Church to Branch Avenue, then NH1 to National Harbor and back, then Metro to Navy Yard then back to EFC post-game is the best move even if it takes over an hour. I think that, considering the baseball game and the heat, that driving to Branch Ave would be better though it's a good 35 minutes at least from our starting point. At the same time, if we drove to Branch Ave it'd be redundant to backtrack via the NH1 when we'd pass National Harbor on the way.

I'll leave it to you guys to see what the most logical transit routing is between these two points.

Which is why this is a bigger issue than it should've been. (Select your excuse/reason: Fox's jumping the gun on Strasburg/Jim Riggleman screwing up the other pitchers by putting Strasburg on a strict every-5-day rotation) is why this is even a factor since had it stayed at 7:05 we could've driven to National Harbor in the morning, then drove to EFC and Metroed in just fine.

Take the 5A to L'Enfant, then go to Nat'l Harbor, then the game, then walk back to L'Enfant to catch the bus back.  This way you avoid metrorail as much as possible.
