How the hell can you turn a hybrid to a diesel? Thats freaking impossible. The only explanation is if they bought a new diesel and gave it 5755 but they want to re-number HEV 5755. Maybe George is right about the re-numbering phase.

WTF...this is not making sense...

the only explanation is my theory of renumbering (not just because I said it, but it seems to actually be happening)

until then, Alpha Team: Search upper and western MoCo, Gold Team: search Silver Spring and south MoCo, we need to find 5755! (or whatever its new number may be)

Hmm, what is the highest number of the diesel 40 foot Gilligs? I'd suppose that the 5300 series, once the numbering series of my beloved 1989 30 foot Gilligs, is now becoming the new 40 foot hybrid series (or just the hybrid series, period). They'd need room if they wanted to purchase more 40 foot diesel buses after all.

In true Ride On fashion, they'd want to create a numbering scheme for the type of bus that was running, so you guys are probably right that they are going to renumber the hybrids that we already have.

So, snap away! I'm wondering when these buses are going to hit the streets. Unlike the last orders of Gilligs, they at least have all of their logos.

I wonder if they ordered 9 more diesels because I spotted 5747 in one of those shots. I think George might have a point to where the original 5755 was probably renumbered with the rest of the hybrids in the 5300 series.

After being on an 08 Gillig where the AC wasn't on this morning, I wonder why Ride On can't get opening windows as a backup? Days where the high is between 60 and 75 on a bus with non-opening windows can be such a crapshoot with the lack of circulation. I'd like to hear Ride On's reasoning for this though it seems to be a new trend; maybe they cane reverse course for the '10 order.

Back in CDTA land, they put in a policy to run the AC on low on the Gilligs whenever the high was above the 55-60 range for circulation purposes. Given that Ride On is superior to them in just about every possible way (and especially in maintnence), can't they enact such a policy?

5755, which IS a 2007 Gillig Advantage hybrid bus, still operates out of Silver Spring.

It's a new bus. Trevor told me the year on 5755 was 2009.

I knew it. I just couldn't see the year in the photos. Im probably gonna take a trip to Montgomery County every week to see if i can spot these buses in service.

What might happen, which is kinda weird, is that with the retirement of the 35' Gilligs, those other Gillig hybrids that are numbered 5750-63 COULD be renumbered in the front 5300-13 with the newer ones being numbered after them. This is supposed to be a big order so there is no telling how many diesels and how many hybrids there are going to be.
