Is it possible that you guys could provide similar ridership statistics for Ride-On & DASH that you listed for Metrobus?  (By route)

And Perry, could you provide approximate figures for GRTC?

I don't work for GRTC, I work for RTC.  I will have to wait until I'm at work tomorrow and see what we have.  Off the top of my head, Route 301 (Deuce) carries about 1 million passengers per month.  The second largest route, which I think is the 202 carries almost 500,000 per month.  I will get exact figures tomorrow.

For DASH...I don't know...the 5?

I don't remember.  It's so far from my mind at this point.  I think the Dale City to State Dept. had the most but that's because it had so many more trips.  That's the thing about ridership, you have to take into consideration how many trips is operated. It's not fair to judge a route that may have half as many trips.

A better gauge is probably passengers per service hour since that takes all things considered.

I took a Dale City trip one day from Pentagon. Quite the load especially coming from out of the Pentagon. I think I see more Dale City commuters including Montclair ones than Manassas ones.

There are several routes: Dale City/Crystal City, Dale City/Bolling AFB and Dale City/State Dept. The bulk of the Dale City/State Dept. ones bypass Pentagon so you probably saw one of the other ones.  Manassas has its fair share, but significantly more commuters take the bus along the 95 corridor than 66 mainly because there is the VRE and Metro to contend with vs. VRE and basically nothing else on 95.

Montclair is a completely separate route along with the South Route 1, Route 1 and Dale City/Ridgefield from Rosslyn/Ballston (which is the last route I designed before leaving PRTC).

Dale City/State: D100
Dale City/CC:  D200
Dale City/Bolling: D300
Manassas: M
Montclair MC
South Route 1: RS
Route 1: RT
North Route 1: NR
Rosslyn/Ballston: R
Franconia/Springfield: PWMD
Manassas Metro Direct: MMD
Linton Hall Metro Direct: LHMD

There are oddball trips in there too such as MX for midday, NX for late night.

People can argue over what the numbering system should be but it works so if it ain't broke......I tried to come up with one but it was more hassle than it's worth and not worth the time to reprogram the signs or put up all new bus stops/schedules for something that the passengers already understand.
