TOP GEAR 13th Season Opener (and race)

The 13th season opener featured a race with vehicles that would have been available 60 years ago (1949).  The vehicles chosen to compete were the Vincent Black Shadow motorcycle (the fastest motorcycle in the world in 1949), the Jaguar XK120 (the fastest car in the world in 1949) and TORNADO which is a class A1 steam locomotive that is the first new steam locomotive built from scratch in England in over 50 years.  The course was from London to Edinburgh.  Cut to the chase - the Jaguar won, the locomotive was second and the motorcycle was third. Reruns are shown on the BBC America channel.
