The "Tyson Connector" is kind of like the PTO shuttle that DASH used to run.  It runs during the midday hours and will be wrapped.  I wonder if they use the 30 foot Orion VIIs for the service.

Here's the press release: http://www.fairfaxcounty.gov/fcdot/news/2010/10_010.htm

Thank you to the Dulles Corridor Metrorail Project Transportation Management Plan for sponsoring this service!
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Tristan

We still run the Lunch Loop through the PTO every 10 minutes from 11:30-2, if that's what you're referring to.

T hey using their ElDorado's that were moved to West Ox from Huntington and those buses will be in a special wrap.  The Orion VIIs I've seen were sitting at Tysons Westpark, maybe as spares/extras.

On an unrelated note, when did the 401 become the 402?  Lots of 401 and 402 FFX service.

It went into effect November 22, 2009. My opinion, it's a stupid idea to number a route a different number the other direction.

Am I the only one who's cringing at the routing itself?

Only thing that looks a bit flaky to me is the long winded, one way loop of the Galleria.

Passengers do not have to cross the road to get to the bus boarding locations. Passengers do not have to cross the road after discharging from the bus.

So is that line making a full round of the Galleria when returning to TWP or skipping it - it's not too clear.  And is there anything preventing it from making a right on Galleria Drive off of International and thence making a left so as to head up the Galleria Service Road?

I looks to me like Galleria is only served on the outbound loop from the Tyson Westpark Transit Station.

My thoughts exactly. That and the fact that the blue route does not serve the Galleria at all. Is there another restaurant/lunch destination somewhere along the blue route that I'm not seeing?

The Galleria is served by the orange route/II in both directions by using that long one-way loop around the mall.
