Presenting the final rules for the Springtime DC Photo Challenge.  The international photo challenge is at http://forums.dctransit.info/index.php?topic=1390.

We're looking to get all you cabin fevered cave dwellers out of your winter hibernation (Hi Pot, I'm Kettle!) and on the streets taking pictures.  Think you've got what it takes?  Go forth and start taking those shots, then post your three best here in this thread on April 30 or May 1 ONLY (you wouldn't want to post your best now and then have someone take your idea and upstage you, right?).  Judging will run on May 1 and May 2 and the winner will be determined by poll on May 3.

Entry Rules
-Can be of any mass transit vehicle(s) in the DC area
-Must be taken between March 20 and April 30
-Should include either a monument, foliage, or water -- or perhaps other "springlike" environmental elements, subject to interpretation
-Cannot be taken in Metrorail stations, transit centers, or other areas -- it's a photo challenge, not just a contest :-)
-Maximum of three photos per entry (post); one entry per person per category (DC/non-DC).

Voting Rules
-Don't vote for your own photos.  It's nice to win, but give props if they're due.
-Voters can pick up to THREE photos.  Winner will be declared by simple majority.

PRIZE TO BE ANNOUNCED.

Once all the goats are rounded up, the German tourists are extradited, and the syrup trucks are returned, you'll have to admit that you never saw that one coming.

Can this be applied to the international challenge as well??  ;)

I was not aware we had an International Challenge.  Will discuss this with our Moderator if he ever picks up his phone.  8)

We have a solid week left, and don't forget about Memorial Day Weekend coming up!  Today's crummy but the weather won't be overcast all week, so get out there!

Just a few quick shots from my last trip.  DC is such a "green city" - it's quite nice!  McPherson Square is a lovely little park as well.
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Tristan

So we're up to two entries, which is actually a net decline from before the extension.  Anyone else plan on submitting?  If not, we'll start the polling tomorrow.

I will post my entries then. I was planning to spend this extra month getting better shots, but it never happened, but here's what I have:
