it's about time i hear something about this. I hope that it's actually done when they say it will, and not delay like 2-3 years as they did with Silver Spring
Actually if I'm not mistaken back in 2007 I read the Division was planned to have opened in December of 2010 until I found out they haven't even started the groundbreaking until September of 2009. So I too hope its not delayed I can't wait to see what equipment goes there.

DC Transit Today / New Division, New Name

According to this the new Southeastern will be called Southwestern Division. It makes sense but I don't know

heh, i never actually imagined one of the LFAs having an ad wrap, I hope to see it tomorrow when I head out.
same goes to 2463, the GPS apparently is still not working, but I hope to see it on the 79 or X9 or wherever I go.

and by the way, 2464 is on the 80 right now according to nextbus

<body copyright="All data copyright WMATA Washington 2011.">
<vehicle id="2464" routeTag="80" dirTag="80_80_1" lat="38.902576" lon="-77.033363" secsSinceReport="64" predictable="true" heading="270" speedKmHr="0.0"/>
</body>
2464 on the 80? well technically they're not branded so its not wrong although people do know where there blue buses live but, It wouldn't stop them from catching the bus if one was on the 80 or the H2.

DC Transit Today / "S" Blocks
January 04, 2011, 10:05:04 AM
I don't know if this is the right place to put this but has anyone seen blocks like this MSB9, PS89 etc. I think those are special blocks that cover for buses that break down during the rush hour period. Does anyone have info on that?

yeah apparently Montgomery does 1 or 2 runs on the S line or the 70 line. yesterday I saw 4330 on the 70 and last week, 4329 on the S4.

and apparently 6303 is still at Landover, according to nextbus at least (looks like it's just 5441 and 5444 at Landover for now, I think a couple of weeks ago I heard 5442 being spotted on the B30 as well but it's back at Montgomery now)

and for my own observation: looks like the Round Rockville buses are finally back, I saw a few running on the 45 yesterday, couldn't get the numbers though. also last night I saw 2801 on the 86, instead of the big red block with the TTT, this time it was just a big light blue block with no numbers or letters, but the destination was normal (Calverton in this case)
I don't think Montgomery has a couple runs on the 70 or S line. They mainly cover blocks that might not go out.
Ironically, I saw 2801 yesterday afternoon on the 79 and the signs were working (still said ARCHIVES heading northbound though).
Of course Montgomery does 70 runs I recall back in Early 2008 before Southeastern closed seeing a few 9800 Flx Ds on the 70 and they had M blocks, I rode 9833 on the 70 once, and seem other Montgomery buses on the 70 all were rush hour blocks.

the next buses to go would probably be the 42-43-4400s, I don't see that happening within the next year or so (at least I hope).
The Xcelsiors are (Supposedly) due in March which will probably kill off 152 Orion Vs since that's the (Supposedly) order of 152 Xcelsiors for WMATA. With the Flxibles gone (yeah they're not coming back) the 4200s themselves would probably go because they are the workhorse Orion Vs, the 43/4400s will stick around for another year, because they spent most of their live in Virginia, or WMATA may only retire that bad seed Orion Vs all together and keep all the good ones like they did the Flxibles.

2305 has the "warning: the bus is turning" announcement (was this the only bus to have it or do others have it too?)

Ummm I rode bout the 7Y and X9 and I heard R&D Voices

PS anyone who rides 2527 the Clever Device is experiencing "Screwed Up" tactics the Lady now sounds like a drunk drag queen.

what's R&D?

could it be that 2527 is testing a new voice or what?
2308 2302 also has the "warning: the bus is turning" announcement. and R&D is Route & Destination and nope its was the same old normal voice, then while I was riding the voice started to sound weird it sounds the battery is about to die or something.

Honestly you would think that they would paint the D40LFRs, DE40LFs, DE40LFRs since they are not going in for rehab for a while.  The Orion VIIs are due for rehab a year or two after the Neos are rehabbed and you would think they would wait till then to repaint them, and not what it looks like now.

WhyMATA *smh*
There's probably some kind of schedule as to which buses are being repainted and when, not so much by build year. There was 6212-6217 6167 and 6168 that were repainted to express and local schemes.
6168 is in the old scheme
