(regarding 6040)
I think someone said it was painted in the express scheme? or local or something like that
anyways, how long has it been since that train collision? I'm thinking it's been out of service longer than 5818 has for Ride On (speaking of which, anyone have any news about 5948?)
I just checked, it's in the express scheme. You know, I'm starting to wonder if it was rehabbed during its 35-month hiatus. What about 6137? Could it have been decked out in the local scheme/rehabbed during its sojourn at Blade?
Sadly, I have not heard anything about 5948, nor have I seen it since the accident.

Either there was a lost metrobus driver or Ride On is borrowing one of Metro's DE40LFA'. There was a metro local LFA going traveling down Montgomery Village Ave when i saw it at Montgomery village ave and walkers choice road...very strange to see it there lol even though there at lakeforest during rush hour.
I'm sure it was a J7/J9 (or even a J7/J9 deadhead). Yes, you'd expect it to be an Express LFA, but local buses often show up on the J7/J9 as some trips are interlined with local service. I won't bother going into the Local/Express branding debate, but I'll summarize by saying... I'm against the "Express" and "Local" branding at WMATA because they regularly do interlining between express and local routes.
Yeah but what made the sighting odd for me is that it was traveling towrds the montgomery village shopping center not towards lakeforest..buy yeahh it probably was a deadhead.

I just never liked the look of them, but this would make sense. If part of the operators pre-trip is to visually inspect the entire wheel... I can see some of them not happening.

I don't see how it would save some money as they already have the wheel covers anyways. Plus, last I checked, most of Montgomery's LFAs have the wheel covers. Seriously, I don't see what's so bad about them.

I've seen multiple buses in the past that have done this. The most recent was 5832 at GTC this morning on the 55. What I'd like to know is: Do WMATA's buses do this as well, or is it just Ride-On?
