A couple of 3D Baby Orions to start out the month, one for Ride On and one for Metro, in the oddest of places...

Just spotted Ride On recycled baby Orion V (number unknown) at Colesville and Spring St .  Buses a ;Dre solid blue below the windows with yellow Ride On decals.

A little off the beaten path, but an interesting sighting still.  Of 8 Howard Transit routes, the Purple and Orange were the only two that I'd seen ONLY cutaways on.  While common on the Silver, Green, and Red, I had seen real buses also on the Brown, Gold, and Yellow.  Today, I finally spotted one on the Orange...

Feeling rusty from the Winter, but I do have a few to share, as I try to get my game back.

One of Howard Transit's Gilligs is now also wearing the Wells Fargo wrap, spotted on the Brown Route at Owen Brown yesterday.

Edit. Add 7064 on the P17.

There maybe some merit to Annex getting some Xcelsiors.  Saw an unidentified one this morning turning onto 11th Street from Penn Ave.  I got to see part of the left sign, which said "Square", but didn't get to see the whole sign, so it is unknown if it definitely an Xcelsior  that is now based out of Annex.

Sounds like it was doing either the P17, P19, or W13 to Farragut Square. Looks like Annex is indeed getting some.

I saw one yesterday on the P17 at Penna and 7th.  Can't recall the fleet number, but know it was higher, like 7068 or something to that nature.

Through the years, many transit photographers have prided themselves on getting photos of something on its first or last day of service.  One need only witness the amount of photo material available online when streetcar lines were converted to bus to see how frequent the practice of last day shots in particular are.

With that in mind, here's a little heads up to the photographers out there regarding some of the upcoming lasts and first that you'll have the opportunity to get photos of in the week or so ahead.  I may aim to get some photos of some of these myself, but by all means feel free to get some shots as well and contribute them here.

Here's a sequential listing of the lasts and firsts that are coming our way:

Friday, September 23rd, Last Day Of Service for the 71, K1, and N8 bus lines.

Saturday, September 24th, Last Day of Service for the DC Circulator 7th Street Line, and last service on the 70 south of Constitution Avenue.

Sunday, September 25th, First Day of Service for the new 74 bus line.

Nabi 5421 on the R2 this evening.

The weather and commute have seriuously put a dent in my output, but seeing this was interesting enough for me to break out the camera in the gloom: Baby Orion VII on the X1 line.

Shuttle UM Flxibles 42 and 45 running pretty much back to back yesterday afternoon around 520pm across University Blvd., the latter of which was heading out to Laurel Park and Ride.
