So 3757 was the only really interesting bus there? I've seen the Old Look, New Look, and RTS many times.

And the thing about it is that 3757 was all the way out back and we couldn't go see it so basically this one sucked. I wish i went to the one last year.

By the way you COULD'VE went over to look at 3757. There was paper still wrapped around one of the seats. And no farebox so it just got delivered. And man was there a crapload of buses at CET.

This is not to disappoint, but to reassure those of you who didn't make it...the reason why most of the people who talked about going to the roadeo were newer members here and not some of the older clientele is because it really tends to be the same thing every year.  Every year they park the same three historic buses against the same wall.  I don't remember model trains from years past or starting up open engines, so maybe that's new.  Point is, see one, you see them all, miss one, you didn't miss much.  So keep your stick on the ice: in 12 months, you'll get to relive history.  Maybe they'll even have a Flx in the historic fleet by then.

Even being relatively new to the area (and having missed last year's roadeo thanks to a surprise trip out of town), I saw little point in going. Would it have been worth nearly an hour on the Metro or the F4, plus a mile's walk, merely to see the same three old buses? Had WMATA brought more than the Old Look to the Union Station Centennial last fall, I'd have already seen it all.

At least last year they also had a fresh-from-Minnesota 6301 and a 5400 there too.

True. What ya'll didn't know was that there was a retired Flx-D in the "WMATA Roadeo" paint scheme there. Also there were 4 DE42LFAs inside the garage. And not to mention the food!! And the ISL and Series 50 engines were straight out of the buses! it was awesome!

Maybe they (WMATA) can put that FLEXI into its historic fleet.
After they number it, of course!

Didn't think to look inside the bus to see if it had a number there?

8704 was supposidly saved as part of their historic fleet.  It's interesting that Flxible has been the literally the backbone of WMATA's fleet, yet every year the only buses displayed are GM units.  They didn't even save any of their Flx new looks which sucks, they didn't save a MAN artic, which sucks and the AMG they were trying to save they either got rid of or was trying to get rid of, which sucks.

We were blocked by the rail thing. It was in the Roadeo area.

Thanks for answering my question.  I thought a Metro B had been retained...although we haven't really seen it.  I concur with your sentiment, though.  While SEPTA thankfully retained a Flx New Look, GM Fishbowl, and a 35 foot RTS, they didn't bother to save ANY of the Neoplan AN440s (which essentially made up the SEPTA fleet in the late 80's and 90's) and scrapped the Volvo B10M, 7011, that they saved for the historic fleet (still trying to figure THAT one out).

What is exactly the point of having a "Roadeo Bus"  Is that where the judges hang out?
