Man I forgot NYC had OG Orion VII hybrids are they any better than ours here in DC? Also how high does the VII NG's Hybrid go up

Well, you can't really compare NYCs hybrids to the CNG ones here. Apples and oranges. If we're talking about structural stuff, then yea. As for the NGs, I think so far its up into the 4000s? IIRC. I'm not sure of the split between MTA NYCT and MTA Bus.

They're not being split this time. So far at MTAB LGA and JFK depots have their O7 NG and their numbers fall before and after groups at NYCTA depots. We're getting 850 of them and they start at 3800. The highest I've seen so far is 4239 which was recently delivered. If you look at some NY-based boards there's a lot of speculation as to what the fleet numbers will be. This is because there is a conflict. NYCTA currently has 30 MCI D4500 buses numbered in the low 4300 series. My guess was that they'd probably renumber those MCIs. However, we're getting real close so maybe they'll just skip over the MCIs.

OK - I'll try to give you the condensed explanation.
In New York City, there the MTA (Metropolitan Transportation Authority. The MTA is a state level agency. They're 7 agencies under the MTA umbrella. They are:
MTA-New York City Transit (Internally it's still NYCTA)
MTA-Long Island Bus
MTA-Long Island Railroad
MTA-Metro-North Railroad
MTA-Bridges and Tunnels
MTA-Bus Company (MTAB)
MTA-Capital Construction
OK - NYCT operates the subway system, Staten Island railway and about 4400 buses throughout NYC's 5 boroughs.
MTAB - Was created in 2003 when the city decided to takeover the seven private bus companies which operated under the NYCDOT. MTAB now operate roughly 1300 buses throughout the city.
LIRR - Commuter rail service between NYC and Long Island's Nassau and Suffolk counties.
MNRR - Commuter rail service between NYC and Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties as well as Connecticut.
LIB - Operates buses primarily in Nassau county.
Bridges and Tunnels - Asi the name implies. It operates the Bridges and Tunnels within NYC.
Capital Construction - They manage the construction/expansion projects.
I know this is way confusing. However, it's about to get simplified (in terms of agencies names). All buses will eventualy be branded as part of the newly created Regional Bus Operations. I have no idea of how they'll brand the buses.
