Title: This was actually on the T18?
Post by: LandoverDivision on September 11, 2009, 07:59:41 AM
In my early days at Bladensburg High, I left school and one point and actually spotted this on the T18 back in '05. Was this just a demonstration bus or something? And I am not lying I would put my right hand on the bible right now.

What is this?

That's the same thing I'm asking.

I'd wouldn't want to see these on the circulator, but they look nice though

Its a "Designline" Hybrid. NYCTA is ordering about 90 of these but it has a different front design then the one pictured.

I KNEW IT. Ever since Caitsith from YouTube posted the first video of these, I said to myself this must be a designline. WMATA might be getting these soon. Watch out!

Did Designline exist in 2005?  The last goofmobile I remember WMATA demoing was that Civis BRT thing, and I don't think that ever did revenue service.  I remember the showing I was supposed to go to (the last one, in VA) got canceled because of the President's Day snowstorm (2003).  No school on Monday! Or Tuesday...or Wednesday...or any other day that week :-D

Designline existed, but the US division didn't start up until 2008.

LOL, those Civis buses, including that one that was demoed is out here.  We have 10 of them.  Anyone need a bus-sized planter?  That's about all they're good for.  :-)

I had a nice ride on them when I was down there.  They are just...odd...and don't offer much in the way of space.  Are they less than 102 inches wide?

Quality, or lack thereof.  You gotta go by more than the pretty windshield.

They are a pain to maintain because getting parts for them is like pulling teeth.   I don't know what width they are, they're probably 102".
