Whenever I've been near the J7/9, it's still largely what few D40LFR suburbans that didn't go to Annex. J5 went from a mix leaning towards suburban seated buses to largely Flx after March, my usual ride in (the 8:20 J5 from Silver Spring) is almost always a Flx and for a good couple months was always one of the 9830s.

Ride-On's 5017 being tested at Silver Spring...
It's a baby 30' Gillig in the new theme, unfortunately, I couldn't get a shot of it, and it didn't go into Wayne or Bonifant Aves, it just deadheading south through Georgia Ave.

FINALLY there is something else at Montgomery other than 6393...we now have 6394 as well. I rode this on the J2 to Montgomery Mall, I got a shot of it before it left, then I saw it leave going back to Silver Spring. Why do I say that? Because I went to the mall for a quick bathroom break, came out, and saw another DE42LFA leaving the bus station, except this one was deadheading out of there. It couldn't have been 6394 because it just left going back to Silver Spring, and it couldn't have been 6393 because just before I went to Montgomery Mall, I saw that bus starting a Y9 run.

Sorry about all that, all I mean to say is that Montgomery has at least two more DE42LFAs.

Well you'll see this on the news tonight.  One of ART's new NABIs got into an accident on Washington Blvd, right before Glebe Road.  It was doing the 52 (I guess) and it was off of the road almost infront of an apartment building.  When I passed by the scene there were fire and rescue trucks.  Parked in front of a fire truck was a red compact car, don't know if it was involved in the accident or someone who just pulled off of the road to help.  I don't know if anyone was hurt, I will find out when I see the news tonight.

Bladensburg does the V5 at times? Didn't know that. And yes we have 3900-3907 (before, we had 3900-3911 or 3912 but they went to West Ox then got transferred to Western).

This was when Bladensburg did they M6 on weekdays they were backward with it the 5400s almost always ran at the wrong times Plus I remember a 30 footer doing rush hour service once. It was 3014 That smell like a FMR bus was so packed that it was like the bus riding slow literally

4291 was one of my favorite buses to drive at Shuttle UM.  Those things are 18 years old already....they were only 2 years old when I started there...I feel very old now.

I'm not claiming to be an expert and I admit that I could be wrong, but I'm at least 90% certain that this bus is a Metro-B.  If the year is correct, then it has to be a Metro-B.

He's speaking of the new DE37LFAs which seem to numbered in the mid to high 3700 series.  The Orion II (3701-3742) are mostly (if not all of them) in storage.

Those buses still about 3 years away from their midlife rehab.  Unless this bus is declared a write-off, I'm doubtful that it will sit for 3 more years and then return to service.

It might 2097 was put out of service for a while and came back after rehab

And when is the neoplan's turn to get rehabbed

4206 on the M6. The first time in a while a standard seated Orion V on this route since Bladensburg had the 4200s (4200-4219). Normally suburban seated 40 foot Orion V's (4388-4389, 4396-4398) 30ft Orion V's and D40LFR's appear's on this line on the weekends. Where's 4399?

How often does Bladensburg operate the M6? I've only seen an Orion VII on the M6 (BM01) one time.

Bladensburg stopped doing the M6 in March. So Annex has Full time 7 day service, 4206 is an Annex bus
only 2 flx E's retired from here. When Bldensburg did the M6 they ran NABI 60 BRT's on this route sometimes. Annex's M6 Blocks are PM60-PM75.

Yeah they went back in the winter 2622-2629, 2636 were traded for 3020-3024.As for the 3900s Annex has 3924-3950 (I think we have the most) westerm has 3908-3923 Landover has 3900-3907. 3921-3922 were at Annex for a little while.

5300's undergo rehab and then get split between Montgomery and Bladensburg.
It's moments like this when I wish Ehrlich didn't derail the CNG facilities at Montgomery. Then the 5400's could have all gone there.

Yesterday I was over at Bladensburg div an I walked down to the end of the yard and I came across 6040 when I seen that I wanted to cry that bus had been taken apart the transmission an everything else was gone from that bus. Also there is another GM Fishbowl down at the bottom of the yard also but I am not sure what they are going to do with those.

WMATA tends to squeeze in their special (shorties) buses in wherever they can, a la the 5100 Flxibles numbered after the MANs and ex-3951-54, the GEORGE SLFs (titled to Forsythe/ART now).

It's not such a big deal now with the Orion IIs out to pasture -- just imagine talking about a "5100-series" bus back in the day.

Has anyone seen more of PRTC's repainted buses?  If someone is in the area and they see it, could you post a photo? I'd love to see how they are updating the livery.

I only saw that one D4500CT, forgot the number, at Crystal City. I haven't seen any since.

The only new scheme PRTC bus I've seen is 375.  Whenever I'm in Crystal City, I wait around for it and then duck inside when I get tired, and there it comes sliding by...not on the same block daily either...at least I don't think.

the 18 is now served by Silver Spring buses, the fact that there were no cutaways to see for a while is a coincidence I guess. when I went busfanning on monday, I saw 5400s on the Van Go, and baby Gilligs on other Nicholson routes, but then I saw a helldorado on the 8, so they're still around.

Edit - I forgot to mention...I saw 5402 on the 44 the other day, so now it looks like Nicholson has 5400, 5402-5405, 5408, 5414, and 5417-5423. Not sure if all the others are at Silver Spring, or if 5401 is at the training facility. Last I saw 5406, it was at Silver Spring, this was not too long ago.
