Title: NYC Bus Fan is here
Post by: nycbusfan on February 07, 2009, 08:06:10 PM
Hi my name is Richard. I have had an interest in buses ever since I first rode an RTS in Brooklyn, NY. I currently live in the Midwood section of Brooklyn and mainly use the B82 bus route. I also take photos of various buses around NYC.

Welcome Richard.  The RTS is one of my favorite buses and now I have to travel to NYC to ride them.  WMATA has one RTS with suburban seating in its museum fleet.

Mike,

Don't forget about Fairfax Connector.  As much as we rag on them, I do like their RTSes.  Just be careful not to hop on one of those XYZ Parking Ride routes that doesn't come back until the next day.

I gotta admit, they're looking pretty good in the new scheme, probably better even than the New Flyers and definitely better than the Orions (which don't really wear it well IMHO).

Tristan: thank you very much.  How could I forget about those!  What was I thinking and I am in Reston every other weekend!  I also love the new paint scheme.

It's very easy to ignore Fairfax Connector; I myself haven't ridden with them in 2009 and my mother lives on one of their routes.  Shows how much of a family man I am, I guess.
