UPDATE:
A couple of months back, I first reported that 2674 may no longer have Luminator signs. Over the weekend, I rode 2674 on the REX (King Street Station). I now confirm that 2674's destination signs are different from all the other 40' Orion VIIs as that very bus no longer has Luminator signs. In fact, there are TWO things that make 2674 different from all the other 40' Orion VIIs in the fleet:
1. 2674 now has Aesys-like destination signs.
2. 2674 now has 2 HDTV-style television monitors mounted on the ceiling!

That has to be an error.
I was on the train when I spotted this bus so I could only guess that it was 2320. If I see it again, I'll get a conformation on the number.
As for the artic on the M31, this was the first time I've seen an M31 going toward McKinley leaving RI Avenue. I wanted to see what the sign said (M31 MCKINLEY HIGH SCH).
The A770 block was indeed an error. I told the operator about it. He probably didn't press the button enough times to get B on the CDS controller. I had to double take when I was taking pics of 2807 because I thought I did see A770 and indeed I did.
Artics on the M31 are common, so seeing one on that route isn't unusual.

Ride On 5004 finishing up a T2 run over at Willard & Wisconsin. Looking quite full too. Maybe the weekend T2 should have stayed in Silver Spring and have not migrated to Nicholson...
A few standees isn't so bad, if that even happened. I like the idea of smaller buses from an efficiency point of view. We pull a lot of the double decks and artics off the road on weekends and replace with 40 footers. We've received one complaint that I know of from someone whining about it, but their fare doesn't guarantee a seat, so you just take the praises with the complaints. If there were people passed up that's one thing, but that's not normally the case.
If people have to stand, it's not normally a biggie, they usually don't have to stand too long. But it's better than running an artic that doesn't even have all of its seats filled just for the purpose of everyone having a seat. That just screams waste when you have larger half-full buses rather than more fuller smaller buses out there.

Nicholson has 35 footers that are supposed to be assigned to most (but not all) T2 blocks. The questions in my mind are was this a 30 foot or 35 foot block, do the block assignments in terms of 30 footers vs. 35 footers accurately represent typical rider demand, or was this just an anomoly?
Even if there were a few standees on this T2, there are a fair number of boardings and alightings, depending on the direction, along River Road near the Fresh Fields and McDonalds, only a few minutes travel time from Friendship Heights. My guess is that the standees weren't even on the bus for very long, so it really isn't a huge problem if that is the case.
It's normal for a baby Gillig to be on the T2 on the weekends. But that might change this summer....

Wrong. The NABI 60-BRT also said 3835 or whatever.
So that rules out being exclusively a New Flyer problem. I'm beginning to think its probably something with the work assignment being loaded onto the CD system and for some reason, the route numbers don't show up correctly. I know its supposed to change automatically, but as for this four digit numbers showing up, that's still beyond me. I haven't seen any Orion Vs, VIs, or VIIs (and O2s) that are experiencing this problem so far. As it stands, Bladensburg, Landover, and Montgomery buses are having this problem.

This just in all 2300-2400's will recieve the new paint scheme affective as of lastweek until sept of 09.
Also someone got into the software code for the clever device programs and codes so the software teams has been working to reinstall the system with better security codes. so if u see " 3856 of 4123" or any numbers or something that reads error thats not the route number lol.. just a break in with the sytem.

I was afraid this would happen seeing as the C40LFs are the next group due for rehab. Before this new paint scheme, I was looking forward to the C40LF going through rehab and repainted like the newer New Flyers (and Orion VII) with the blue ends.

waiting for the 65 to mont.village at shady grove 5910 rolled past with the back all taped up with duct tape, it seemed to be holding the hvac cover in place. I have seen this on a few northern buses and a couple in nyc. Is it commom for t/a to use duct tape for (temporary)fixes like that?

They do the same thing in New York and I can't figure it out either. Conga lines of buses on the bustitutions for GOs on the subway at each terminal, but the buses only leave once full or after a preset interval, whichever comes first. Seems like a waste of resources.

I'd go out on a limb and say that probably most of us will see that many buses on a typical day, but we tend to list those that stand out for one reason or another.

I see a whole bunch of buses everyday but for me I don't note every bus I see as I'm not that excited by it. Maybe because I deal with it on a work basis too... :-\
I do have to say that I saw a Flx-B this morning (2/19/09) on the Y going southbound on Georgia Ave. Too far and too dark to get the number though.

Quick question, Is it possible that WMATA is considering putting the NABI BRT's on other Bladensburg straight shot routes like the R2?
Just rode 2311 on the eastbound D6. The front & side signs displayed "3855 Stadium Armory". Someone got on and asked the driver if he "goes the same way as the D6". The driver responded with "I am the D6, the sign is just messed up".
I just saw 5417 on the R3 ill upload the pic as soon as i can!!!
I think Bladensburg just wants to get the 60BRT's off of the torture known as the U8. Those buses take a lot of mistreatment from passengers there whereas the R's are serene in comparison.
When WMATA put in the order for them, did they know the Benning Road project was going to happen or did DC job WMATA?

Why should the Ride On Gilligs be crushed? What is wrong with their current destination signs? Are you going to personally provide the funds for new signs, because I can pretty much assure you the county won't pay for them right now.
How do you decide what observations to bold? The fact the new artics are on the R Routes is more noteworthy in my mind than the fact some Flxibles are on Bladensburg routes.
Why do you want to know where 9310, 6110, and those other buses you always ask about are?
Didn't Bladensburg always have some 4200's?
yes they did until 2001 when the 2300's/2400's cng buses came in and they spreaded all fleet to other garages.

It appears that some of the '95 Flxibles that originally operated out of Montgomery (4088-4094) are coming back to that division. And, as for the 40' New Flyer BRT hybrid buses that are still at CET, please let us know if & when those buses will finally be in service.

Montgomery does the L1/L2/L4 too. That division's been doing that route, along with Western, since last year. After SE Division closed.

The L1, L2, L4, N2, N3, N4, and N6 are operated by Montgomery during the week and by Western over the weekend.
Seems like Metro is doing someting wiht there old Flxibles like some of the 35 ft Flx's are at Landover (Im still thinking its a dream) and 4088-4094 are going back to Montgomery.

I think I read where they just received three more MCI's. I guess this will give them some extra flexibility because they are looking to cut some service including a route that I put together myself, but I knew it was going to fail because it duplicated some other routes. Oh well, it was funded by PWC so we had to put it in and hope for the best. I had some ideas of how to fix it, but they didn't want to do it so.....
One of the many reasons I'm glad to not be there anymore.
Swa another 35 ft Flx (Unknown Number) on the f4 this morning with the old Lights.
Just saw 2202 on the northbound 42. The front LED display said "42 Mount Pleasant via Adams Morgan". I don't remember ever seeing that before. Is that something new? If so, it seems like a good idea.

Some interesting sightings last night. First off saw 2028 with a non operating destination sign on the 25 something. Then coming in the other direction a few minutes later was 4222 on the 25A.
