I never been to Cuba but i was looking at pics of some of there "buses" but is this actually legal???

Well...different countries have different laws...
There is/was a transit system here in the states that did/has a similar setup, on the West Coast I think but I don't remember who.

OCTA had a similar thing back in the late 80s, early 90s i think. Superbus I think.

Yessir. I think those are makeshift buses with other vehicles that are joined together or something like that. Anyway, they are called the Superbuses, and, while they provide super capacity, are wretched vehicles to have to ride.
Cuba (Havana?) is supposed to replace these with many new buses, such as artics and whatnot if I remember correctly.

So says Wikipedia. It says the replacements will be Chinese, but it doesn't provide any other information.
Come to think of it...what if they're not legal?! I think you should call the authorities in Cuba and inform them of such illegal vehicles running around in their terrority.
This situation is just another reason to eliminate the trade embargo the United States has placed on Cuba. Without the trade embargo Cuba could buy buses made in the United States that wouldn't have to be transported half-way around the world and that would assist our balance of payments problem. What do you think the Cubans would use for hard currency?

The "trailer-type bus (was) pulled by a truck tractor (manufactured by WHITE) . . . and accommodated 60 passengers." "For a short period in 1987 Orange(County) Transit District ran one of the two Super Buses between Orange County cities and downtown Los Angeles."
Actually I think those ARE the Superbuses. As for ending the embargo. Screw those commies. They want to be obstinate and raise hell, let em ride Commie buses. Nabi is too good for em.

We could make nice with Cuba, but what if Cuba doesn't want us? I remember a story of the Regan Administration sending an envoy to Havana late in his second term to try to make nice and the Castro Brothers rejected him.
Besides, communism isn't THAT bad. At least they kill their capital criminals and don't give them better lives than many freed people.

The Cuban bus has a twin screw cab-over-engine tractor while the original Super Bus has a single screw cab-over-engine tractor (with an electronic destination sign) and the passenger trailer only has one rear axle without the tunnel looking appendage that connects the front and back modules in the Cuban bus.

Agreed. Also I believe the tractor had just 2 axles and I recall the trailer being more moderm looking with A/C. I may look up the article in Bus World later, scan a pic and post here.

Sorry, my bad. That is " truck" talk for the number of powered driving axles on a tractor unit. The picture of the Cuban bus shows a tractor unit with two rear powered driving axles and one front steering axle. The actual US Super Bus tractor unit had one front steering axle and one rear powered driving axle. Each powered driving axle is referred to as a "screw".
