Phoenix's new 20-mile light rail line opened on 12/27/2008 and will provide free rides through 12/31/2008. More information at www.valleymetro.org (http://www.valleymetro.org). According to THE WASHINGTON POST the line runs "from north-central Phoenix through downtown and then east into suburban Tempe and Mesa. More than 30 additional miles are planned by 2025."
