Title: MARC Penn Line Trains to begin weekend service on 12/7/2013
Post by: WMAveteran on September 05, 2013, 07:11:21 PM
THE WASHINGTON POST reported on 9/5/2013 that Maryland Governor Martin O'Malley announced the weekend service "during an afternoon event at a MARC station in Baltimore."  "Wednesday marked the first time O'Malley has provided details of the $46 million expansion, an aide said.  Plans call for nine round trips on Saturdays and six round trips on Sundays."

I wonder if they'll do the same for VRE because we need it.

Agreed.  Commuter Rail service in the DMV needs to enter the 21st century.  I believe the express commuter bus services should also provide weekend service like in NYC.

Yes, PRTC Omniride in particular need to have SOME Saturday and Sunday service. The could at least have the Cross-county connector routes (i.e. Springfield-Fran Metro and Massass lines) open on weekends. Maybe even Montclair.
