Amtrak dome car set for fall trips from TRAINS magazine

WASHINGTON – Amtrak has released the schedule for its sole remaining dome car, former Great Northern full length dome Ocean View. Great Northern No. 1391 was one of six full length domes built in 1955 by the Budd Company for the Chicago-Seattle/Portland Empire Builder operated by GN in partnership with Burlington Route and Spokane, Portland & Seattle. As Amtrak No. 10031, the car will operate this fall on the following schedule:
Adirondack train No. 69: Albany, N.Y. – Montreal Sept. 13-Oct 20: Mondays, Thursdays, and Saturdays;
Adirondack train No. 68: Montreal – Albany Sept. 14-Oct 21: Tuesdays, Fridays, and Sundays.
Cardinal train No. 50: Chicago – Washington Oct. 27, Nov. 3, Nov. 10: Saturdays only;
Cardinal train No. 51 Washington – Chicago Nov. 2, Nov. 9, Nov. 16: Fridays only
