Title: BUYER'S ALERT: WMATA About to be "Retro" Maps for Sale
Post by: WMATAGMOAGH on June 15, 2012, 10:50:25 AM
Heads up map collectors!

Annyone want an old, pre Rush Plus Metrorail map?  They are available for $25.00 + shipping from the WMATA online gift shop (http://www.apistores.com/wmata/default.aspx).  Supplies might be limited, I was getting an "item unavailable" message for several days, but they were available as of a few minutes ago (I just placed my own order).  You can also buy the new map, but that one will be around a bit longer...

The maps at the link are not the same size as the maps aboard the trains. The map aboard the trains are 38 1/2" X 31 1/2", these are 30 5/8" X 28 1/4".

On the several times I have visited the surplus property warehouse to purchase something, Adrian gave me set of the previous maps.

Adrian will likely get the remainder of inventory of the maps that will be retired this weekend and sell them through the Surplus Property office.

By the way I still have copies of the 1996 map if anybody wants any.

How much are you selling them for?

I suppose one can monitor the surplus site too, Dan Stessel seemed to suggest these were straight off the trains though...

$25?!  That seems to be a bit steep, unless those are, in fact, off the trains.
