Title: FFX Question: Whatever Happened to MATT?
Post by: Flxible on December 01, 2011, 07:52:46 PM
I had no clue a Fairfax Orion I made it into the current FFX livery until I found this article about 7754:

Does anyone know if this one is still on their property or used at all?  I must say it's not too shabby in this paint scheme.

It was retired before it was put into that paint scheme.  I forgot exactly what it's used for, but I'm pretty sure it never saw service in that paint scheme.

I don't know if the page was updated since the last post, but it appears they use it for transit travel training for seniors and such upon request.  This is FANTASTIC and I'm glad to see that Fairfax is taking in the lead in providing such a program for its residents.

The MATT bus can be seen at West Ox, in the new expansion lot closest to Alliance Dr across from the V-DOT building.  It's next to a bunch of new Connector Xcelsiors with 77xx fleet numbers that are awaiting to be put into service.  This is farthest from the WMATA fleet.

Goodbye to the Connector's RTSs with the new 77xx's sitting around unused?
