Metro has some fun in a photo slideshow of the Xcelsiors for TBD (http://www.tbd.com/pictures/2011/09/see-wmatas-newest-metrobus-mdash-the-new-flyer-xcelsior-xde40/7969-542.html).
On that note, has any Metrobus terminated at American University? And if not, what other non-terminal destinations may be loaded into the system for future use "just in case"?
Glenmont Station and Jermantown I know have set destinations. Glenmont used to be the terminal for the C7/C9, and I don't know about Jermantown. The destinations of the old 12 and 20 lines might still be in the system though.

Aren't there some oddball Y runs either in peak or at the beginning/end of the day that only go as far as Glenmont?

Jermantown is a cut on the 2 line when Fair Oaks Mall is closed. They might still have those signs for the old 12 and 20 lines in the system. Also, I think Metro programmed in some signs that were old termini but some like BROOKLAND STADIUM are just head scratchers, but these mismatched route and destinations sure make for interesting photo ops.

I have never seen a Y bus terminate at Glenmont, though it's certainly plausible. I often see the Y5 short-turn at Norbeck Park and Ride rather than the hospital during peak periods. On weekends, I've seen buses that terminate at Wheaton rather than Silver Spring when going south, and I've seen Y8 buses terminate at Leisure World going north.

Attached is a (low quality) picture of 2B bus with the Jermantown Rd destination. Couple things... I live near Ballston and everytime I see this departure the signs show 2C JERMANTOWN instead of 2B JERMANTOWN. This is the only trip that uses this destination. This is another case where whoever programmed this sign used a smaller font size than necessary. It's like they went crazy with the Standard 9 font.

wow yeah that is pretty small, I could have sworn when I saw that sign on that Flxible a couple of years ago, the font was noticeably bigger

It takes a little time for the route number to change when it's connected to Clever Devices with the common login. It gets really confusing for the S2/S4 at Silver Spring because if you come up as an S2 and go back as an S4, the route number doesn't change with the destination. I have no idea why that is since it should be instantaneous.

This is also why I've seen "80 Greenbelt Station" or "80 Calverton", for when the 80 trip interlines into an R
Maybe they should go back to roll signs, so much simpler ;-)
