I hope everyone is ok. It was a 5.9 magnitude earthquake, centered 4 miles away from Mineral, VA in Louisa Co.  It was felt as far north as Canada, as far west as Indianapolis and as far south as Atlanta.

I was inside a building at UMD when it happened. A surreal experience indeed.

I was at home in Gaithersburg when it struck and I had to hold on to some items on my fireplace mantel to prevent them from falling. The quake dislodged a glass pane from a curio cabinet holding my airplane models but fortunately the glass did not break and the models were not broken.  I had to readjust several wall-mounted paintings and prints.  A busy afternoon!
