Saw this on the WTOP site today and thought it would make a good guess the location photo. Answer to be posted after 12:01 AM Tuesday morning if no one gets it by then.

Farragut West
I concur, Farragut West.
Couldn't find the article the picture was attached to, do you recall the headline?
Smithsonian?

Smithsonian?
Station name is two words, coffers have corners that are rounder then those at Smithsonian.

No need to look at the station sign (which I considered cropping out) to figure this one out...
It was on the front page at the top for the link to the Weekend Wakeup Call.

It is Farragut West, but the giveaway should be the lack of platform pylons...

Farragut West is not the only twin platform station devoid of platform pylons, it is however the only twin platform station devoid of platform pylons that has entrances at both ends.
Which others don't have pylons?

Which others don't have pylons?
Virginia Square.
Add Ballston and Clarendon to that list as well.
In fact, Farragut West is the only side-platform station without pylons that is not solely served by the Orange Line. I figured out that it was Farragut West by looking at the PIDS. Seeing Largo amongst the sea of New Carrolltons on the PIDS tipped me off that it was Farragut West.

In THIS picture? Are you sure you don't mean Franconia in the sea of Viennas?
Maybe. Point is that it's two different destinations - a short one and a long one, indicating that it's a shared segment. I think you may be right about which one it is.
