Title: Jerusalem Light Rail Likely to be Delayed Another 2-3 Months
Post by: WMATAGMOAGH on June 24, 2011, 10:22:54 AM
Officially, the opening is scheduled for mid-August, however, in recent weeks, there was a derailment and the dispute about the signal priority system for the LRVs has shifted from whether to install it or not (they will) to how it will be installed and which engineers have to sign off on the design specifications or something like that (it is Israel after all, there needs to be a dispute about something).  The general consensus is that the train will not be ready in 6 weeks or so when it was supposed to, but more likely it would open after the fall holidays.

More from Globes (http://www.globes.co.il/serveen/globes/docview.asp?did=1000657102&fid=1725) and the Jerusalem Post (http://www.jpost.com/NationalNews/Article.aspx?id=225398).

However while you wait, I expect to be able to provide some good light rail material about a week from now...
