CDTA's Orion VI's were worked to death and had tons of issues that have pushed them out so soon after 12 years. Their roofs leak like sieves (a consequence of Orion having used bondo on the roofs) and there have been eternal passenger flow issues since they have the "true" rear door. Add in that the arrangement they used wasted the rear wheel well space and you have a capacity of 32 on a 40' bus. In fact, the now-retired 1996 Orion VI's replaced the Crown Ikarus artics on a 2:1 basis. WMATA's came late enough that most issues were nipped in the bud and the rehab helped big time as did putting them on less-overwhelmed routes most of the time. CDTA did not.
Did the two Orion VI demonstrators Ride On had have the same issues?
