Great shots.  so Alexandria has a new rehab bus?  What happened to the old bus.  Did you get it back for the historical fleet?

Also what is up with that new paint scheme on the 2500 series bus.  The red stripe in the front.

Yeah, agreed - the stripe is sorta weird.

But without it, how do you know if the approaching bus is express or local since the front of the bus has the common color (silver)?  Yet another reason I'm not a huge fan of this paint scheme in case that wasn't clear to the DCATZ community already.

Nice pics Trevor. DASH's garage looks pretty nice. Also, I didn't know Alexandria FD had a bus let alone a Gillig.

They do not "brand" buses anymore so that has nothing to do with local or express.
Yesterday I rode 2665 on the 7W and saw a Red paint scheme bus on the 29G an (express route)...

The LFA buses have an all-silver front without a red stripe, and I've never heard a complaint.  The thing with fronts is that generally speaking, the express buses have colored signs and the locals have yellow signs, and I presume that's being used as the way to tell things apart.

I have a feeling that the color swatch right there is because they need to put a color in a spot on there that the LFAs don't have, and that color has normally always been painted in the accent color, which previously was blue.  I guess that accent color is red with the new paint scheme.

But they are now repainting buses from the 4th? scheme into the new express/local scheme, including buses that are getting express colors that have the standard orange LED signs.

They aren't having any success with those Twinvision Chroma signs. I have no idea why they chose to get those when the bulk of the fleet is Luminator. The TITAN sign on 2801 showed some promise (when it works) but they should have just gotten the Luminator Spectrum signs as are on the 2800s and 6424-61.

Looks like this may be a former DASH 1996 unit. At one time, Alexandria FD had a an ex-DASH 30-foot Orion I; my guess is this is either AFD fleet addendum or a replacement for the OBI unit.  Tristan, do you have info on any of this?

The little "stripe" should go on the LFAs too.  Oh well, I wish they just did a full windshield fill with the appropriate color like they did back in the day of the Flxibles...
