Title: Sarles, Others Interviewed for GM Position
Post by: WMATAGMOAGH on January 16, 2011, 12:27:39 PM
The Washington Post and WTOP are both reporting that current interim GM Richard Sarles, as well as 3 other candidates, are finalists for the permanent position and were interviewed by the Board of Directors on Saturday.  The WTOP story is at http://wtop.com/?nid=30&sid=2236426.  It seems Sarles is now in the running as a candidate, even though when hired initially, there seemed to be an understanding he wasn't to be considered for the top job on a permanent basis.

Actually Richard Sarles is one of the 3 prospective candidates, not Sarles plus 3.

The Washington post did an article on Sarles on 01 13 2011 that one could interpret as being an endorsement.
For Metro's interim chief, tenure may turn into tryout (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2011/01/13/AR2011011305107_pf.html)

I'd have to say that I like Sarles so far. I hope he does get the job.
