The Southern Avenue garage belonged to WMA Transit until it was taken over by METRO.  The buildings are over 50 years old and were originally designed for busses manufactured by the WHITE COMPANY and FLXBLE Clippers that were about 37 feet long and no wider than 96 inches.  Prior to the METRO takeover WMA's entire fleet consisted of 35 foot and 40 foot fishbowl transit busses and about 4 fishbowl suburbans.  The fishbowls fit in the garage but they were stored outside. WMA began operating in the 1920's.
