It is a long trip, it takes awhile for the buses to make it down to DC. Trust me, with the old Ride On 27 from Friendship Heights to Medical center via the Bahamas, I can tell you how long that kind of a route takes to ride from end to end. ;-)

I'm one of those people who thinks that WMATA's Q2 getting 4 extra route designations will create lots of confusion.
NYCTA's Q13 also terminates at Fort Totten.

HIGHLY agree with this statement. All of these LFAs sure took over the fleet quickly.... What's even sadder is that NYCTA makes Ride On look boring too!

Agreed! It's like they switched places. At the RTS height, I think we had almost 3000 of them (not including those at the PBLs) at a time when NYCTA rostered about 3900 buses. Now they have nearly 4600 buses (again, not including MTA Bus) and there's plenty of variety in the fleet. Also, it will get even more diverse soon as they're due to get NovaBUS LFS (40 footers), New Flyer C40LFRs and Prevost X3-45s.

Got that right. However, I remained hopeful that they'd get off the RTS bandwagon. A few years later I was beginning to feel the same about Orions, especially the Orion VII.

I don't find Ride On's fleet to be boring. Yes, they're heavy with Orion VIIs and Gillig Advantages, but the good part is that they have like 3 flavors of each.
I'd say the Ride On fleet as a whole countywide has some decent variety, but there is less variety in any given location. When I was in Maryland this summer, it seemed like all I was seeing by me was Gillig Advantages and rarely anything else.
wait, those old green buses are still in service to this day?
oh, and Ride On needs more New Flyers, unlike WMATA...

George, if you are referring to 9098 and 3258, those are part of the historic fleet that NYCT has been running the past few Decembers. Those buses are not in regular service under ordinary circumstances.
