Post by: WayneNYC on September 01, 2010, 01:58:44 PM
I used to live 1 block away.  Glad I'm not there now.

This is one of those days in which I'm glad I no longer live in Silver Spring. Everything is going to be so royally messed up that it isn't even funny.

It'll definitely affect all traffic, but Metrorail may be affected too as lots of people use the Silver Spring stop and I imagine it may be closed, due to it's close proximity to the Discovery Building.

Metrorail is still operating. Metrobus seems to be only going as far as East-West Highway and Colesville. Ride On buses are picking at on Fenwick Lane.

I'd assume that the F's, Q's, Y's, and Z's are on detour and that Philadelphia St (F's) and Spring/16th Streets (others) are jacked with above-normal bus traffic right now.

What a situation!  I know I was shocked to see this as I waited incredibly too long in line at Dunkin Donuts, watching the Fox News report.  I'm glad to see that nobody was hurt (well, except the gunman).
