To stay on topic, Southwest has put newer ads on Ride On buses, both a generic "Service to Boston Logan, Providence and Manchester" ad and one for the launch of their "Beaches of Southwest Florida" (Panama City) service that started up in May. I think Southwest bought a long-term deal and Ride On sees little point in updating an ad if the money is already paid.

The L2 was definitely running increased service today to supplement the Red Line. I saw two buses running NB very closely together just after 9 this morning while driving to synagogue. The first was at Calvert and Connecticut, the second along 18th Street (I turned at S, so it must have been down closer to New Hampshire). On the way home, the Adams-Morgan circulator had a full size bus on it, not sure if that is normal these days since I've seen the shorter buses on the E-W line a few times lately.

Also, there are new lighting fixtures hanging from the ceiling in the mezzanine at the west end of Judi Square. They look OK and are certainly effective in brightening things up on that side of the station.

I saw the Brookland Stadium sign on the R4 a few times back in 2007, I would have thought they would have gotten that glitch out of there by now. Then again...
Someone must have merged the signs for Brookland and Stadium Armory together without noticing it. I have noticed there are still alot of obsolete headsign displays programmed into the signs (i.e Taft HS, Woodson, Naylor Gardens, etc). To make matters worse, on alot of the 21-2200s, the Luminator sign controller panel is screwed shut for some reason and if the Clever Devices panel is not working, the operator is screwed in setting their signs.

OK - I don't get it. As far as I know the C8 is operated by only Montgomery Division. If this is still true, then my understanding is that every bus on this route will sport a Montgomery block (borrowed or not). That said, 4375 is not necessarily a Montgomery bus now because it's displaying a Montgomery block. It could simply be covering for another bus.

on the way back from Shady Grove Station after dropping off my mom, I saw what appeared to be 5735 or 5736 on the 71 arriving at Shady Grove.
On the ride down on the MARC Camden Line, I spotted a couple MBTA Blue Line cars and a Green Line Type 7 on a southbound CSX train at Riverdale.
Montgomery is almost all out of 6100s. 6196 and 6199 are the only remaining ones, plus the 6200s.
Yeah, I found on Nextbus that 6197 is at Annex (was previously on the M6)

On the rail side: 6113 indicated that the doors would open on the left at Gallery Place, Metro Center, and Dupont Circle, and on the right at Farragut North, Woodley Park, Cleveland Park, Van Ness, Tenleytown, and Friendship Heights. I wonder what causes that bug. Usually it affects a station or two, I think this is the first time I've seen a car display the wrong side consistently at every station on a trip.
Also, the signal at the outbound end of the Farragut North pocket on Track 2 dropped to red just before we passed it, this is at least the 4th time I think I've seen that happen since June.

Saw 5529 on the 29 an hour ago, which I was not expecting since it is a Sunday evening. Front and rear signs weren't working, paper sign in the front window. Not sure about the side sign. Bus seems to still have decent speed, I was doing the speed limit (35 MPH) and got in front of it when it made the stop between Sangamore and Cromwell (I forget the cross street there) but it had almost caught up to me by the time we reached Cape Cod Court at the top of the next hill.
Also saw 3003 on the D4, not sure what length buses the D4 typically gets these days though.

Another thing to note is that the D4 does not show FRANKLIN SQUARE at all on the signs. It still hasn't been programmed into the signs.

5529 seen this morning laying over at White Flint before going on the last 81 of the morning.
I went on an outing today to Montgomery Mall (I swear, the signs at the bus shelters need a major update; they still show the N7, the Smartmover routes, and the 47 to Grosvenor) and some major sights include:
5907 on the 55 (not too unusual, it was crowded as always, but that bus makes some VERY high-pitched noises, especially when braking)
While on 5907, I saw 9404 on the Q6 to Shady Grove (mind you, this wasn't during rush hour or anything; it was close to 11)
Ride On must've fixed the announcers on some of their buses; buses that didn't announce stops before (5828, 5942, 5926, 5718) were now announcing stops. This couldn't have happened too long ago; I rode 5828 a couple of weeks ago (on the 55), and it was a totally silent ride.
6205 on the C2, then the J2, and 6207 on the J7; D40LFRs are dropping like flies here in Montgomery County.
5305 on the 47; this bus was 15 minutes late. You know, that loud noise the hybrids make when they brake always amuses me. I don't know why, but I always liked it when the bus is almost at a full stop, and it's still making those loud sounds.
And I saved the best for last...
A ride on 5735 on the 61 home! (By the time we left Lakeforest, the bus was full; I swear, Ride On needs to increase the frequency on this route.)

Ok hopefully somebody can confirm but today I saw some 40 versons of the A300ks for the DC Circulator. I was near Navy Yard on the V7 and noticed one of the #s was 1147 then I noticed that they were 40fts there was about 3 of them I'm guess new buses for the new Rosslyn route?

Not just for Rosslyn but for most of the other routes. I've seen them shift around a few of the 40 footers for the Woodley Park route recently and most of the 30 footers have been showing up on the Waterfront route since it's not that busy as the other two. I'll check to see how high the numbers go.
Just saw a 35 foot Orion V (2001-2001 model) heading towards Friendship Heights on the 23, I was too far away to catch the number though

From the news clip, there didn't appear to be any significant damage.
Spotted one of Shuttle-UM's newest Gilligs a few minutes ago. 3410 2010 Gillig clean diesel. Frameless windows brand new.
The 2010 buses will be numbered from 3010-3710. I don't know what numbers the hybrids will be. They are doing training on them right now and I might get pics by the time they hit the road.

5939 has taken to sounding like 5946. And I must say, I really like it.
I rode 5719 on the 55 to Lakeforest; it had one of the deepest standing loads I've ever seen in my entire life. Also, there seems to be something wrong with its announcer; it announces stops like normal, but when someone pulls the cord, it doesn't say "STOP REQUESTED". I wonder why that is?
DC CIRCULATOR:
1146, 1147 & 1149 have all entered service. All 3 of these buses were sighted on the Woodley Park-McPherson Square Metro lines over the weekend. 1146, 1147 & 1149 are the newest buses in the fleet, which are the 2010 model Van Hool A330 series. Unlike the 2003 model Van Hool A330 series (1101-1129), these buses have 2 doors on the right, as opposed to 3. These brand-new 2010 Van Hool A330 series buses have just entered service not too long ago.
2461 & 2462 Are now rehabbed buses.

I figured it was going to happen soon. The John Deere stickers were taken off recently and looked like there were being primed for the repaint.

yeah 2669-2673 have been branded for the 9S for a loooooooooong time now, it's very rare you see them on other routes (I have yet to see one)
