Here you go

5579 seen at Shady Grove Hospital/Fallsgrove area, looked like it was doing a 43 to Traville, but I don't think it was since it didn't come back around (the signs weren't working, plus the front bus number was located right in the middle
5529 seen deadheading southbound on I-270 around Montgomery Village Ave. I also saw this bus 2 days ago on the 96.

Yeah, I saw 5579 earlier today at Germantown Trans. Center; all it did was basically a lap around the area before returning to 118.
After my classes at MC-Germantown, I saw 5731 pulling up, with the sign saying "NOT IN SERVICE", then about 10 minutes later, I saw it on 118 doing the 55 to Rockville; a bit earlier than normal, actually. Apparently, when it said N.I.S., it was headed to Germantown.
One more thing... 5718's side sign is broken, and not in the "garbled text" fashion, the sign was literally covered up by a piece of paper and a poster. What that was about, I have no clue.

The driver of 5731 was apparently late and blamed it on the driver of 5713 (both were going up to GTC), I don't know what the background story was but all I remember was seeing 5731 block 5713's way out and the driver coming out and taking his anger on him.

I was on 5713 btw, where were you? And around what time did you see 5579 at GTC? I was at GTC at around 12 noon or so

I didn't see 5713, by the time I left the building, 5731 was already pulling out. I ended up taking 5734 to GTC. Oh, and I saw 5579 at about 8:30.
Ironically enough, 5731 was the bus I took to GTC today.

I just eyeballed it on a map. You're right by a slight margin. Good observation!

It makes me wonder what the extremes of reaches of certain divisions are and which one covers the most territory.

Whew!  It looks like that really was an April Fool's joke then.  Glad to see the remaining Flxes are still running strong.  And it's good to see Ride On still has 5529 too.  Must get back up there soon....

In addition, I rode 5909 on the 55; this bus was pretty vacant and it also came a few minutes early. For a 35-footer on the 55 on a weekday, that's a pretty uncommon sight.

It could have always just been filling in for a run or two because they needed a bus and it was available and was never at Montgomery in the first place.  Kind of like when I got a shot of 2302 on the S line a few years ago.

Once the X9 comes up, the X3 will be history. It's one of those unnecessary routes thats being duplicated by the X2 and the 90s.

dead serious. I was kinda surprised as I know they're usually on the X2 not X3, but I guess that's what interlining does. I do see how that line is kinda pointless though...most of it runs the same way as the 90, 92, and 96 does, until it gets past Florida and 8th NE, where Minnesota Ave Station isn't too far away.

I certainly had an exciting morning.

I saw 5809 broken down at GTC next to the Taco Bell; it was supposed to be doing the 55, 5718 came in as a sub.
A few minutes later, I was on 5718, and when we pulled into MC-Germantown, I saw 5716 on the shoulder with a cop on a motorcycle in front of it. As we passed by the bus, I looked inside--there was a cop onboard patting down the only passenger on the bus (which was also going to Rockville, BTW), and I think I saw another cop talking to the driver. I wonder what was going on...?

Bus observation: 2100 on the 10A last night.  First Knight Rider I've seen in VA.  Hope it's not here to stay.

So while driving down viers mill road and goergia ave during evening rush i noticed that all the LFA's that i saw included 3 artics on the Q line, had there real wheel covers removed. Does anyone know why? Maybe cost saving measure? Btw i think the buses look so much better without them!!!!!

So while driving down viers mill road and goergia ave during evening rush i noticed that all the LFA's that i saw included 3 artics on the Q line, had there real wheel covers removed. Does anyone know why? Maybe cost saving measure? Btw i think the buses look so much better without them!!!!!

Yeah i noticed that to. All of montgomery's LFA's have no wheel covers?

I haven't ntoiced except for one of Montgomery's "express" LFA's.  I always suspected that over time, they would start disappearing.  I hope it continues.  Then  they'd look somewhat normal.

I don't see how it would save some money as they already have the wheel covers anyways. Plus, last I checked, most of Montgomery's LFAs have the wheel covers. Seriously, I don't see what's so bad about them.

I thought it would probably save money for example if one gets damaged some how, dont have to spend any $$ to replace them. And its just my personal opinion that they look much better without them. All of the LFA's i oberserved at Lakeforest( 2 express didt have there wheel covers) and all the the LFA's i saw at shady grove except 6392. I know what i sae yesterday and today represents a small amount of Montgomerys fleet but i hope they are going bye bye.

Didn't someone here say months ago that MdOT didn't want anything covering wheels of a bus?  Probably because it adds 1 extra step to a pre-trip inspection that might not actually get carried out?

I just never liked the look of them, but this would make sense.  If part of the operators pre-trip is to visually inspect the entire wheel... I can see some of them not happening.

I had some free time today, and so I decided to take a trip to Silver Spring. Here's the main points of what I saw:
I rode 5413 on the 8; there was some repaving on University Blvd., so the trip was really shaky; there were even a couple of really hard hits that made the bus rumble violently.
At Silver Spring, I saw 5422 (Ride-On) getting towed.
I rode 4093 on the J2 to Med. Ctr.; I don't think this bus has air conditioning.
5830's side sign is glitchy, as is 5808's front sign.
I saw 5445 doing back-to-back Y8s.
I rode 5914 on the 100; this bus has a fine whine, Pinot Noir, I think. LOL
As I was on 5914 leaving Shady Grove, I saw 5904 broken down as it was about to do a 74 (2nd time this month I've seen 5904 broken down; I hope it's alright...)
So... yeah. That's my day in a nutshell.

6480 is one of the new LFAs. Anyways a lot of Landover buses are getting the wheel covers taken off of them as well. They do look better that way but like George said I don't see anything wrong with them.

Just wanted to let you guys know that 6463 is a Northern bus. Saw it on the S4. These are being delivered sooner than what WMATA said they would..

6482 on the S4 this morning with no wheelcovers and also 3026 on the 23A, which is the first time I have seen a 30 footer on the 23A.

I checked the GPS readings and the highest one so far is 6491. There are some gaps in between as they are being delivered. It seems Northern is getting this first batch of the second order. I figure West Ox, Montgomery, Landover, and maybe Bladensburg might get some.

2068 on the 23C (AS49). I thought the 23A/C was all FMR.

either that or Northern is the temporary home until more of these units arrive, just like when Northern first had 6410-6423, some other 6400s, and when Western used to have some 6380s and 6390s, and 6320.

They are probably there because of the newer DE42LFAs arriving at Northern.
