Title: WMATA to Appoint Interim GM...
Post by: WMATAGMOAGH on March 02, 2010, 06:05:05 PM
...Sources say it will be Richard Sarles, former head at NJT.  I wonder if he is a candidate for the permanent position or not.  I'm a bit surprised the interim head is an outsider but probably a good thing for the agency in the long run.  What are other people's thoughts?

Article from the WaPo is at http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/03/02/AR2010030202941.html.

Previous articles I have read on this matter have indicated that every one from inside declined when offered the position.

I don't know much about Mr. Sarles to make an informed opinion. However based on the background information in the article it looks like he is more then qualified.
