Title: Bus Zone Parking Violations
Post by: jcb123 on January 18, 2010, 04:14:19 AM
I received a ticket for parking within a bus zone. I did not see a sign, so I just parked where I was sure there was more than enough room for the bus.

When I finally found a sign, it was more than 100 feet from the stop! There were at least 8 cars ticketed.

I think this is excessive and might actually be an improperly posted sign.

Does anyone know the ordinance and what it says about how close the signs have to be posted?

Any suggestions of how to fight this citation in court?

Look on the back of the ticket for instructions on "How to contest this charge"

If you don't file the paperwork within a certain ammount of time ( Some states 15 days, some as much as 30 days, or as little as 10 days) the fine will double, and you could also be subjected to having your vehicle booted, or impounded.  ::)

We wish you success in fighting City Hall and/or Parking Enforcement.
