Title: Systems You've Been On
Post by: WMATAGMOAGH on September 01, 2008, 12:23:46 AM
They started a thread on SubChat in which people are posting all the transit systems they have been on, and I thought we could do the same here.  Over there, buses don't count, but I think that on this board, they should.

Here is my list:

WMATA (Metrorail & Metrobus)
Ride-On
Fairfax Connector
MTA Maryland
New York City Transit (Subway & Bus)
Metro-North Railroad
New Jersey Transit
PATH
SEPTA
PATCO

Miami-Dade Transit
King County Metro
TCAT (Ithaca, NY)
Park City Transit (Park City, UT)

SBB CFF FFS (Swiss National Railway)

RandstadRail
Nederlandse Spoorwegen (Dutch National Railway)
MPK Kraków

Of the above, I've done the DC, San Francisco, New York, Chicago, Vancouver, Miami, Toronto, Glasgow, Rome, and Haifa subways in their entirety.  I did Vancouver, Miami, Toronto, Glasgow, Rome, and Haifa in a single day.

I've also been on the Eurostar, TGV, ICE, AVE, Thalys, and Eurostar Italia high speed trains in Europe.

I've had the opportunity to ride various systems in North America and Europe, but I've visited and photographed many more without ever taking a ride.  I don't have time to compile a definitive list right now, but here are a few highlights:

Original hometown system: Boston's MBTA (I remember riding Mack and GM Old Looks as a kid, and have photographed all modes since 1978)

Current home town system: CNY Centro in Syracuse NY

First system I traveled to outside of Boston: New York City TA

Favorite city I've traveled to in recent years: San Francisco Bay Area

Favorite historic modes I've had the opportunity to ride: (Tie) - San Francisco cable cars, Lisbon trams (Portugal)

City I haven't done enough in and need to spend more time in some day: Chicago
