The MDOT ARRA report of June 26 reveals some interesting bus purchase items where Gillig is identified as the vendor for Howard (hybrids larger than 30'), Harford (diesels less than 30') plus Anne Arundel and Montgomery for diesels larger than 30'. The dollar value for AA and Montgomery is $8,135,000. Assuming that a 35' non-hybrid is priced about $325,000 this works out to approximately 25 buses. Harford's 30' order is valued at $4,383,531 which is 15 buses at approximately $300,000 each.
The Howard order is $1,620,000, which assuming 35' hybrids at approximately $550,000 each that works out to about 3 buses total.
No vendor was identified for Frederick's hybrids or Prince George's diesels. Using the Howard assumptions, Frederick's $1,057,000 works out to approximately 2 hybrids. For Prince George's, using the AA/MC assumptions, their $6,900,000 is about 21 buses.
Regardless of vendor or type of bus it appears that deliveries, if all this actually happens, will be Summer 2010.
Anyone with better info/numbers please jump in as I'm sure corrections may be in order.
Who would be the agency getting the buses for Anne Arundel County? Connect-a-Ride or Annapolis Transit?
Also, wouldn't these be the first ever real buses for Harford County? Last I checked, all they had were cutaways. Weird that they'd get real buses before County Connector in Hagerstown or VanGo in Charles County (among others).
