Sad news to report, Orion will be closing their doors at the end of the year.

From their licensed [by TMC] arrival in 1979 to the new BRT Hybrids being delivered to WMATA today, Orion has been a major presence in the DC transit scene.  It's sad to know that there will be no more Orions gracing the streets of DC, MD, and Va.

This is truly sad, it's like losing Flxible again

You will be missed Orion :(
Route Q2. Destination: Silver Spring Station

Tritransit Area

It is so sad to see Orion go :(  I "grew up" with them in a sense, from the Ride-On TMC Citycruisers and Orion Is to the IIs, Vs, VIs, and VII that ran on the various systems around DC Area. I'll definitely miss this company.
My favorite buses:
1989 SEPTA AN440: 19 years in service
1989 NJT Metro Bs: 21 years in service
1990 WMATA 93/9400 Flxes: 20 years in service!
1990-92 Ride-On Orion Is: 17-18 years in service!

Tell me again I have no taste in buses...

Me too, hell 10 years later, I STILL miss their products!  :'(
