This looks nothing like WMATA's original 7000s, but is nonetheless an AMG product from the very same year.

Once all the goats are rounded up, the German tourists are extradited, and the syrup trucks are returned, you'll have to admit that you never saw that one coming.

I wish I had a chance to ride one of these (granted if I was born before 88 of course).

You weren't missing much.  Very rattly, loud and not much to them.

Same could be said for Flxs. Also, speaking of AMG, I still remember the MAN tics Metro had a while ago before the Neos came. I remember sitting in Fuddruckers one day and seeing one coming down H Street on the X2.

The AM Generals were disposed of really quickly.  The last ones were out in '86 or '87.  As soon as the 8700 series Metros came in, those things were gone.  My last one that I can remember riding was spring '86 when I was in Northwestern High School and I had to catch the C2 from my house off Riggs and University to the school for an evening program.

I thought something was strange when I read the subject, "For the AM General *Fans*"
