I'm looking for information about any DC Transit System bus route that would have run in Washington DC on 14th Street NW between Pennsylvania Avenue and G Street NW in the late 1950's or early 1960's before streetcar service was abandoned.  I know that section of 14th Street NW was served by streetcars on routes 50 and 54 but I am trying to discover if there was also bus service there.  Thanks for your help.

We need more historians here LOL!  I'd say that Delmarva Traction list on Yahoo Groups might be the place to ask, they're all historians there.  Let us know what you find out!

According to a 1978 timetable I have and a co-worker verified that it was the same in the 60's, the N7 & N9 use to operate on 14th St between KSt and Pennsylvania Ave NW.

Thank you very much.  I am doing some research for an artist who is creating a painting of a DCT PCC trolley at 14th & G STs NW.  He wanted to put a DCT bus in the picture also with an appropriate destination sign.  You are the first person to mention the N7 & N9.  A respondent on BTCO had a route map that showed no revenue DCT bus service on 14th ST at G ST.  Trolley service stopped on January 27, 1962.  Do you know if the N7 & N9 routes were operating that early?

Can you give that artist my email address or something? I've been looking for someone who could do that!

Tristan: I can do better than that.  I can introduce you to him.  He has a large display at all of the model train shows, in fact, he was present at the Greenberg Show in Chantilly VA last weekend.  I have several of his prints on my walls at  home and you are welcome to drop by anytime and see them.  Check out his website at www.lerroproductions.com.
