In regards to the R46, and remaining R32 fleet... If the TA decided to disinfect them based upon this guy... While most of the remaining R32s are assigned to Pitkin... nearly half of the R46s are still assigned to Jamaica shops.

There are a lot of theories floating around.  I don't pretend to have the right answer, but I'd think to stop all flights from Africa (remember, that's a huge continent) is absolutely no guarantee of anything.  In fact... My understanding is that Duncan's travel itinerary took him through Brussels where he boarded United flight into the US.
You know what, you make an excellent point with that. I had totally forgotten about that detail. But the least they can do is shutdown access from confirmed countries.

I don't know how true this is, but I read from someone on a NYC-based site that they're no direct flights from those areas into the U.S.

This topic has been moved to The Blender because while it may mention transit, it's actually off-topic.

So... Many who ride NYC subway tend to make at least one transfer during their trip.  What's your suggestion to determine if this person had ridden another line?  Also... If this person infected other riders... How would one locate other riders, and determine where they may have ridden?  Does that mean shutting down the entire subway system, and maybe even the bus network?  Why stop with Ebola...  What about people who may have contracted something like Meningitis which can be highly contagious?

I'm not even going to get into your conspiracy theory.

This morning at the end of the AM rush hour.  Southbound F train (R-46 consist) was making express run between Roosevelt Ave-Jackson Heights to 21st-Queensbridge when it derailed near the 65th Street station.

All service between Queens Plaza and 71st-Continental, Forest Hills is suspended.  The TA has a shuttle bus operation in the affected area, and hopes to restore local service in the area for the PM rush hour.

The reason LIRR operated the Cannonball from Hunterspoint Ave, LIC is because their diesels weren't allowed into NYP.  Of course that's no longer a problem now that LIRR has the dual-mode locos.

I hear it used to come blazing through Jamaica station.

I believe New Flyer has discontinued the LFA.

At the end, I recall them being split with Montgomery and Four Mile Run.  I know Montgomery had lots of them in '97, but I think the '00 Orion Vs allowed them to be retired.
