August 2012 observations

Saw WMATA Orion VII #2594 on New York Ave NW this afternoon.

I spent about 15 minutes at Gaithersburg Park & Ride (Route 124 and I-270) on Thursday afternoon 8/23/2012 from about 5:15 pm to 5:30 pm and observed quite a little transit show: first to appear was WMATA New Flyer operating Route J9 (I-270 express between Bethesda and Lakeforest), second arrival was MCI D4500 coach #176C (still in the ICC wrap!) operating route 202 (ICC express peak hour service between Ft. Meade/NSA and Gaithersburg), third arrival was MCI D4500 coach #173C in standard Maryland Commuter Bus paint operating route 201 (ICC express service between BWI/Marshall Airport and Gaithersburg) and the fourth arrival was MCI D4500 coach #163C in standard Maryland Commuter Bus paint operating route 204 (ICC express peak hour service between Frederick/Urbana and College Park).

2665 and 6432 now have Metro Extra logos
Alstrom cars 6026 and 6027 no longer have cloth seating as they have returned to having the standard seating. However they are still carpet-less.
2544 is back in service from repairs, as well as 2173.
The only ones remaining at Bladensburg for repairs are 2675, 2724, 6497, and 7167, unless someone has seen at least one of these buses out recently.
