According to the MTA website it is inaugurating new service from Severna Park, Davidsonville and Kent Narrows to Washington DC on September 1, 2014 using Route 50 (Routes 230, 250, 260), but that is still a long way from Salisbury.
Was in Manassas yesterday and spotted 2 PRTC Omnilink Gillig Advantages (2013 units) and a Fairfax Connector New Flyer D40LFR at the Cummins shop. The WMATA Nabi BRT-60s were no longer there.
Saw a 2000 PRTC Omniride Orion V ( #174 I believe) on the Dumfries/Triangle line yesterday afternoon while going home. One thing I've noticed is that I have not seen a PRTC Omniride Gillig Phantom in service for months. I know there are only five of them, but what's with that?
Also yesterday, I spotted MCI D4500CT #382 training on Route 1 yesterday morning.
Spotted PRTC Omniride 2009 MCI D4500CT #381 on the SR-1 line with a Tyson's Corner wrap on it late this afternoon (bus was late btw).
Saw two FFX 2007-2010 New Flyer D40LFRs parked at the Cummins shop in Manassas yesterday.
Seems that 2001 New Flyer C40LF #2391 is going to be out of service for a while. It rolled back down a hill in hit a lamp post and an SUV according to subchat.
Couple of things:
1. Was out near the Manassas Cummins shop yesterday and spotted a Ride-on New Flyer C40LF, a Ride-on Gillig Advantage, a PRTC Omniride Gillig Advantage, and another WMATA NABI 60-BRT CNG.
2. Today, while on my way to New York (for the Auto show and for some transit fanning up there), spotted PRTC MCI D4500CL #317 traveling along I-95, most likely as a training bus.
Spotted and rode 2005 PRTC Gillig Advantage #264 on the Fuller Heights line. Guess they took it out of storage. Also saw 2000 Orion V #171 on the Dumfries/Triangle line.
