I'm glad to see there's still a few Flxibles on the active roster.  Hopefully they will still be around when I plan to come up some time next month?

DC Transit Today / Shuttle's 88 Flxibles and TL 960s For Sale
« Last post by Flxible on Today at 12:32:13 PM »
Just got word from Mike Painter at UMD Surplus that these are going on the Terrapin Trader.  The TL 960s are going as complete buses, and all but one of the 1988 Flxes are being listed as "parts or scrap only", with the exception of one that is complete except for a turbo.

I'm glad to see the Thomas buses go (as I'm sure we all are), but sad of course to see a few more of their Flxes go.  However, the 91s are their best and last Flxes, and Shuttle always parts out their oldest Metros to keep the newer ones running, so they gave their lives to keep the last ones running.  For how long, who knows.....

DC Transit Today / Re: Ride On Truck Bus Fire

Number one I can't call it a bus, because it isn't and number two I am surprised noone talked about this but yesterday what look to be a Ride On VanGo bus went up in flames,  the bus is totally destroyed.  I saw the video on the news.  All I can say is one time to find another Orion I (if they have any left other than 5529), and two they'll be adding on another baby Gillig to their next bus order (that's if they order from Gillig).  Now time for the rest of them to go.  Luckily noone was hurt, everyone got off in time.

Other Options:
3: Buy CUE's to-be-retired 30' Phantoms
4: Wait until next year and buy the ex-WMATA Orion II's from DDOT.

ART's 30-LFW's are starting to enter service. 5257 was seen in Ballston on the 52 during rush hour yesterday.

Wow, I'm really out of the loop nowadays...when did Circulator get new 40 foot buses?  I'm wondering if Krapf's is running a demo based off of them in Philadelphia...I didn't realize more were purchased!

Actually, 6592 is the highest.

I'm very curious as to how many were ordered. Are there going to be any 6600s by year's end ? We'll have to wait and see.

I swear, I checked this morning and 6592-6594 didn't show any info, but now it seems like 6593 and 6594 are here now. Which means that 6594 is the highest. At the rate these buses are coming in, I wouldn't be surprised if we saw some 6600s by next week.
